 18 rue de Martignac – 75007 Paris

In presence of experts of Télécom ParisTech

Today, more than 2.5 billion people are connected to the Internet. Tomorrow, we will connect to tens of billions of objects, sensors, robots, which will interact with each other, and gradually take over large parts of the management of everyday life.

The internet dynamic influence throughout our economy, forcing entire industries to adapt. Looming intense industrial battles. The power of American actors and, to a lesser extent, Chinese, augurs badly for the outcome of this division with respect to Europe. However, these developments should provide opportunities for European industry if she knows how to seize it.

In the social and societal field, internet will change organizations, modes of production, labor, compared to knowledge and understanding, democratic expression, social link, etc.. and undermine the position of the public actor including regulatory and tax purposes. What will the Internet in 2030? What are the opportunities and risks for the economy and society?

The Policy Planning Commission entrusted a prospective study on the dynamics of the Internet on the horizon 2030 to a multidisciplinary team of specialists in the world of the Internet : Telecom ParisTech and FING. The study analyzes strong trends and created multiple voltages generated. Proposals to the government will be issued.
