Freight transportation, a vital part of a complex supply chain, is marked by two destabilizing factors when looking at the current conditions: climate change and rising energy prices. These facts require the industry to take practical measures to make it competitive with the industry as a whole, but it also requires more research so that the correlated impacts can be reduced.
