How does living in a poor neighborhood, or otherwise promoted, he affects the behavior and individual tracks? This effect is called "neighborhood", are they attributable to the district or other socioeconomic determinants?

Many studies, French and foreign, have been intended to show that living in disadvantaged areas creates difficulties in terms of health, academic performance or professional background .

This analytical note back on this work and made three proposals to renew the debate on urban policy . The center for strategic analysis is the importance of combining four policy levers: develop a supply of housing accessible and balanced territories, improve the environment for neighborhoods, promote the mobility of people to more advantaged neighborhoods, residents place in a situation of co-decision in the operations of urban renewal.

Upon reflection on the desirability of a second act of the national urban renewal, it seems essential to present the main results of the work on neighborhood effects and highlight the political compromises found abroad between support territories and support for people .

With this in mind that speakers from the United States and Europe will present their ideas at the international conference to be held all day on Thursday, November 24.
