The evolution of medical practices

Centre d'analyse stratégique (CAS), 18 rue de Martignac, 75007 Paris

How to better align demands and supplies?
What are the
risks and benefits of predictive medicine based on personnal predispositions?
How to improve the effectiveness of 'recommendations for doctors'?

  • What government response to the popularity of unconventional medicines ?

Given the risks and potentials associated with increased supplies and demands for non-conventional medicines, a government action seems necessary. On the one hand, it is necessary to ensure the safety of these techniques on the patient as well as supervising the practice and training of therapists. On the other hand, the State should organize the integration of these medicines in the health system where they can contribute, in addition to conventional care, to a more efficient health system. A dual objective that the Centre d'analyse stratégique transforms into five proposals.

  • Predictive medicine: the beginnings of a concept-stakes

The promise of predictive medicine raises as many hopes than fears, and could supply important debates in public health and bioethics in the coming years. The Centre d'analyse stratégique draw a way that would benefit scientific progress while preventing potential abuses.

  • Recommendations for good clinical practices: a useful tool to change the practices of health professionals?

Recommendations for good practice, intended to guide health professionals especially doctors, are struggling to find a wide audience. To make them more accessible, especially to patients, and to encourage their further implementation, the CAS shares four proposals to change the format, content and support for dissemination of recommendations.
