The Centre d'analyse stratégique organized a symposium behavioral and environmental incentives.
Wednesday, March 9, 2011
In the field of ecology as elsewhere, there is often far from intentions to action. 79% of French people say they are ready to eat responsibly, but the 'consum ", ie those that combine words with action, actually represent less than a quarter of the population (20%) ...

Also necessary as it is, behavioral change can not be decreed. However, it is possible to promote it.

Until now, environmental policies have used fiscal instruments and standards, to information campaigns and education. In addition, new approaches are now to be considered, in order to perpetuate and extend green practices across the company. Some of these methods propose to use behavioral science theories that advocate more levers to operate, including the strength of social conformity, to encourage behavior change. The experiments conducted abroad show interest when such strategies are part of a comprehensive environmental policy, both coherent and ambitious.

The Centre d'analyse stratégique wished invite experts to share their work and their experiences at a seminar entitled "Incentives and behavioral environment".

How to remove obstacles to the widespread adoption of sustainable behavior? What are the strengths and limitations of different incentives that governments can implement? How best to articulate these incentive instruments? These questions have guided our thinking.
